HAPPY READING!

In the past two years the best quality which I have inherited from my seniors and my  elder siblings is to learn something new from every small event which happens in my life whether it is in an examination hall, or in the sports arena or in my own house or family. As a student I have realised that I can improve my grades/marks by rectifying the mistakes which I have committed in my previous examinations or by analysing the way in which I had prepared myself for a particular examination(s)and then figuring out how I can prepare myself in a much better way for the next time when I sit for an examination.

Recently just a few weeks ago my half-yearly examinations got over and in this blog I will surely like to share with you all what are my takeaways from these examinations and how it can help me to do better in my future examinations and most importantly how these examinations helped me in understanding the need for mental peace in my life and how these exams helped me to realize that it is high time for me to prioritise my mental health above my studies and particularly my exams. So here are listed below the three most important takeaways for me as a student from my half-yearly examinations:

  • STUDIES AND EXAMS ARE NOT EVERYTHING IN LIFE THERE IS MUCH MORE TO IT:

This is by far the most important takeaway for me from these exams. Studying in grade 12 and with just 3-4 months of my school life left I finally understood or rather accepted the fact that studies and exams are not everything that a student must care about in their life their are many many more things which students can prioritise. I am not saying that studies and exams should be completely neglected but at the same time one must not stress upon their examinations or continuously keep on overthinking about it. Earlier I had the habit of freaking out before every exam thinking as to what would be the difficulty level of the question paper, whether my preparation for the exam is good enough to help me pass decently in that particular exam etc etc........... . But this time around although I freaked out a day before my first exam and kept on overthinking about the exam until I had the question paper in my hands, I  realised after the exam that instead of overthinking and wasting my time to control my stupid thoughts if I had put in some extra time and effort into my preparations even a day before the exam I would have given the exam more confidently and I would have been much more satisfied with myself . Thus, I made a promise to myself to not overthink about the exam or let any absurd or weird thoughts cross my mind before any exams. Thankfully, I could keep this promise which I had made to myself and this definitely did help me to give my remaining exams much more decently and with much less stress .
So ya, if you are a student who is reading this blog it is advisable for you to not think about the result and focus more on your hard work and preparations for the exam. Every student must realise that they can not score a decent grade/ good marks(as we say it here in India) without working hard for it. And trust me if you are going to freak out before your exams thinking about the result you are most definitely going to mess up your exam. If you are already suffering from this problem it is advisable for you to make a commitment to yourself that before every exam you are just going to think about what you can do to give a better exam. Long story short your results are not in your hands, what is within your control is your hard work  for the exam so just focus on that and leave the result to god .

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR A STUDENT TO REALISE THAT STUDYING AND SCORING HIGH MARKS MUST NOT BE THEIR ULTIMATE GOAL IN THEIR LIVES, THEY MUST ALSO LEARN HOW TO LIVE AND ENJOY LIFE!!!!!!

  • DO WHAT YOU FEEL IS BEST FOR YOU AND AVOID COMPARING YOURSELF TO OTHERS:

Another important lesson for me was to have confidence on myself and stop comparing my exam preparations with my friend/classmate's exam preparations. For the first time in 12 years of my school life I felt underconfident while preparing for my exams this time maybe because of my overthinking or may be because of the pressure of the never-ending syllabus. These exams taught me that until and unless I am not confident that I am well prepared for my exams and can score decently I should not give up on studying or revising the subject matter regardless of how much time it takes for me to complete the revision/syllabus. During my exams I was well determined to not stop studying until and unless I found my preparations for the exam to be up to the mark and to not stop studying until and unless I thought that I can score decently in my exam regardless of whether I had to step out of my comfort zone for that. Most importantly I learnt how to stop comparing myself to my friends and classmates in terms of exam preparations and feel more confident on what I was doing or to put it in simple words I learnt how to focus on my own preparations rather than getting distracted by thinking about how much preparation my friend/classmate's had done for the exam. I realised that it was high time for me to stop getting distracted by looking into other people's work and rather focus on my hard work and concentrate only on what steps/measures I can take for excelling in my examinations. And trust me guys if you master the art of focusing only on your work you will surely excel and do wonders in life.

A VERY IMPORTANT LESSON WHICH I LEARNT WAS TO NOT COMPARE MYSELF TO OTHERS AND RATHER FOCUS MORE ON MY HARDWORK. I  ALSO REASLISED THE NEED OF HAVING UTTER SELF-CONFIDENCE UPON MYSELF IN ORDER TO CARRY OUT MY TASKS MORE CONFIDENTLY & EFFICIENTLY .

  • PUSH YOURSELF BEYOND YOUR COMFORT ZONE :
It was I feel very very very important for me to realise as a student that if I want to be a better version of myself and if I want to excel in my examinations then I have to be hard and tough on myself, only then can I get the desired results which I want, if I am lenient on myself and do not put certain restrictions during my exam period then I might as well end up scraping through my exam which obviously will not act as an incentive for me to do well in my class12th board examinations which is the ultimate exam in the life of every Indian student studying in class 12 . Every student aims at doing well in their class 12 board exams so that they can get admitted into their dream college/university. During my examination period I realised that if I do not bring a certain amount of discipline in my life when it comes to studies then I will surely not be able to excel in my board examination which is also for me my ultimate exam and excelling in that is my ultimate goal. So in order to discipline my life when it comes to studies I made sure to switch off my mobile phone and to keep it locked in my almirah, and switch it only after I have completed my revision/syllabus . So practically during my exam phase I used to turn off my device at around 8 or 9'o clock in the morning and then turn it on when it was time for me to go to bed. Another restriction which I had imposed on myself was to avoid eating any sort of junk or oily food as it would have resulted in me lying down lazily in bed and which would ultimately lead to a lot of time waste.
And finally I decided to stop procrastinating things and set deadlines for myself  to complete a particular chapter/topic so that I have enough time to revise all the topics/chapters in my syllabus once again.

I FEEL THAT AS A STUDENT I CAN EXCEL ONLY IF I PUSH MYSELF AND PUT IN THAT EXTRA HARDWORK. GUYS TRUST ME THAT EXTRA HARDWORK OF YOURS WILL PROVE TO BE A HUGE DIFFERNCE AT THE END!!!!

With this I put an end to today's blog and hope that you have understood what I have learnt from my examinations. I would recommend you as students to suggest me on what topic I must write on next by dropping a mail on the given e-mail id: maheshwarisid17@gmail.com
