HAPPY READING!

So how many of us students have a tendency to get distracted by different things while studying? Many of us share the same problem even I had problems paying attention in class because I easily used to get distracted by my friends or I got distracted by a song which would continuously play in my mind forcing me to not concentrate in the class. If you start paying attention while studying it will not only help you get better grades but at the same time would also make you a good listener as time goes by. Being attentive in class or while doing anything else helps a person to become more intelligent and efficient as he/she remembers whatever the person is saying to them. Being attentive while studying helps you to focus in your studies in a much better way. So without further ado let's get straight into the 5 important tips to increase attention span.

  • DON'T GET INTO MULTITASKING:
If you think that multi-tasking helps you to increase your attention and focus in your day to day activities then you are wrong my friend because several studies have shown that if you multitask your brain may actually slow down and work less efficiently. That is why preparing a daily time table is necessary for you in order to work more efficiently and stay focused. If you remember doing something while you are working try to write it down in your time-table so that you don't forget it.

SAY NO TO MULTITASKING AND TRY TO FOCUS ON ONE THING AT A TIME SO THAT YOU DON'T GET EXHAUSTED AND REMAIN FOCUSED.

  • GOOD SLEEP:
A good night sleep is very important for students if they have to increase their attention span. Sleeping for 6-7 hours a day is recommended for students so that they don't get lethargic and lazy. Staying up all night watching videos on You Tube or scrolling through reels on Instagram is a very bad habit which should be stopped immediately if you want to increase your attention span. It is recommended to detach yourself from all electrical devices 1 hour before you go to sleep so as to have a good sleep at night. It is recommended for students to sleep before 11'o clock at night and get up at 5:30 or 6 in the morning and go out for a morning walk or run as it will help them feel fresh and at the same time would help them concentrate better in their academics.

NOT SLEEPING PROPERLY AT NIGHT INCREASE THE CHANCES OF HAVING DIZINESS, INSOMNIA AND FATIGUE AMONG STUDENTS.

  • TAKE BREAKS:
It is very important for students to realize that they have to take breaks while studying. Studying continuously without any breaks increase the chances of head aches and also may lead to confusion. A student is advised to study for 50-90 minutes at a stretch after which they should take a break of  10-15 minutes and during that break they can do some household chores or can listen to music, but they should keep in mind to not get distracted by social media or by anything else. You can also set timers of 10 or 15 minutes in case you get distracted very easily.

IF A STUDENT CHOOSES TO TAKE NO BREAKS WHEN HE/SHE STUDIES FOR 3-4 HOURS THEY MAY DEVELOP CONFUSION AND OVER A PERIOD OF TIME THEY MIGHT GO INTO DEPRESSION BY GETTING BORED OF STUDYING AND STUDYING.

  • LISTEN TO MUSIC AND FOCUS ON MENTAL HEALTH:
Listening to music helps one's brain to perform better and also helps them to react in a much better way as listening to music is the only activity in which our entire brain is involved. You can also tune into some soothing and low pitch songs if the background noise is too loud for you. You can try listening to songs from movies or of rock nature if you want to do things at a fast-pace.
It is very important for students to take care of their physical and mental health. They should try to learn healthy habits such as waking up early in the morning , going for a regular walk and exercising for at least 30 minutes every day. Keeping yourself mentally fit is the best thing that you as a student can do to increase your attention span. Students should try to stay away from negative news and negative thoughts so that they don't get into the habit of overthinking and start distracting themselves regularly.

LISTENING TO MUSIC IS THE ONLY ACTIVITY IN WHICH YOUR ENTIRE BRAIN PARTICIPATES.

PRACTSING MEDITATION AND PHYSICAL EXERCISES FOR 30 MINUTES EVERY DAY IS HELPFUL TO STUDENTS AS IT STOPS THEM FROM OVERTHINKING.

  • ELIMINATE DISTRACTIONS:
Try and stay away from your mobile phone when you are studying as it helps you to not get distracted easily. Impose time restrictions on all social media apps which you have on your mobile phones or turn on focus mode on your mobile until you are studying. Looking at your phone to read texts or to watch videos during breaks also distracts you from studying. Try to minimise your phone time to 1-2 hours every day in order to increase your attention and focus.

SWITCHING OFF YOUR MOBILE PHONE OR KEEPING IT IN A SEPERATE ROOM WILL HELP STUDENTS FOCUS MORE ON STUDIES AND AT THE SAME TIME WOULD HELP TO INCREASE THEIR ATTENTION SPAN.

All the above points may look to be very difficult to follow but trust me if you start following these points sincerely for at least a week you will start seeing better results and will become more attentive. I would like to end today's blog by saying:
"IF YOU BE ATTENTIVE, THEN EVERYTHING IS YOUR                                                                                              TEACHER."

  THANK YOU❤️❤️
